The Unified State-Regions Conference yesterday approved the proposal of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructures Paola De Micheli for the agreement between MIT and the Municipality of Palermo on the financing of the new lines of the Palermo Tram System and the related interchange parking lots .
This is a loan of 487 million euros entirely from the state budget under the Fund for rapid mass transport.
The new lines, which will integrate the existing ones and those already financed with the Pact for the South, are 5, for a total of 47 km: - central station - Giachery (by sea) - Corso Calatafimi - Via Basile (Orleans) - Bonagia - Via Basile (Orleans) - De Gasperi - Sferracavallo - De Gasperi - Zen / Mondello.
"The resources that we wanted to invest for the completion of the tram network of the city of Palermo - declared the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Paola De Micheli - will be functional to connect the fast metropolitan mobility systems with the road transport systems existing urban and suburban areas, putting in place an organic and intermodal transport infrastructure that will connect and make accessible the nerve centers of the city, the university and hospital centers, the peripheral districts and the seaside villages.
