Sergey Ryabkov, Russia sides with Iran and opposes US sanctions

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister has expressed his country's opposition to US sanctions against Iran, saying that the US appears to take every opportunity to exert pressure on countries that do not follow its policies, and negatively judging the new US sanctions against Iran. Currently, the EU is reflecting on direct banking cooperation with Iran which will ensure the continuation of banking and commercial activities between them. The White House has faced major hurdles in implementing oil and energy sanctions as it has faced closed doors in persuading other countries to refrain from selling Iranian oil.

China and India, two big buyers of Iranian oil, are on top of opposing countries that have defied US sanctions on Iran.
