22 arrested and 223 investigated: this is the balance of the checks in the last week of August by the Railway Police. 33.059 identified, 3.574 patrols engaged in the station and 792 on board the train, for a total of 1.671 escorted trains. 252 anti-pocketing services and 177 high penalties.
28 augmented checks on the fifth “Safe Stations” day which saw 1.367 employees of the Railway Police at 457 railway stations.
In Udine the Railway Police, during an escort service to a regional train, arrested a Romanian citizen receiving two detention orders following a conviction for a total of 7 years and 8 months of imprisonment for crimes of sexual violence, injuries and non-compliance of a removal order from the national territory.
A Nigerian citizen was arrested and arrested in Turin for dealing and abusive port of arms. The young man, already known at Polfer, was stopped for a check and a large knife and 9 grams of marijuana were found inside his backpack.
A Nigerian citizen in Italy with no fixed abode and with an expired residence permit was arrested in Bolzano for possession and drug dealing. The man, who arrived at the station with a train from Verona, did not escape the controls of the Polfer engaged in the usual services to combat drug trafficking jointly with the canine unit of the Guardia di Finanza. The operators found three large nylon bags containing over a kilogram of marijuana inside his backpack.
In Milan Lambrate the Polfer agents noticed a young man who, at their sight, tried to move away abruptly. Immediately blocked, he declared generality then proved false. Through the fingerprints it emerged that the citizen, of Moroccan nationality, was under house arrest in the province of Messina. The young man was arrested for the crime of evasion and denounced for supplying mendacious generality.
4 young people, including one of French nationality, were blocked and then reported to Terni for defacement and fouling of other people's things. The "writers" surprised by an operator of the Railway Police free from the service to smear a train parked at the station tried to escape by car. Stopped were found in possession of 74 spray cans, which were seized.
Intervention with a happy ending in Rome where a Polfer operator managed to save the life of a boy by winning his trust with humanity and empathy. In fact, a boy, after a family discussion, had threatened to kill himself and had his tracks lost in the Rome underground tunnel. The agent of the Railway Police, advised by his parents, called the young man and after having won his trust, managed to get him to go to the offices of the Polfer, drawing him to safety.
