Saudi Arabia-Iraq sign cooperation agreements and increase trade in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia and Iraq have entered into bilateral cooperation agreements in various fields. The Minister of Trade and Investments Majid al Qasabi, and the Iraqi Minister of Planning and Trade Suleiman al Jumaili signed the agreements at the end of the work of the bilateral coordination council which took place in Riyadh. The agreements include customs cooperation between the two countries and a memorandum on the reactivation of the committees of the Bilateral Coordination Council. The agreement provides for the development of the Iraqi part of the border port of Arar and the strengthening of joint cooperation aimed at increasing the volume of trade between Riyadh and Baghdad. Iraqi minister al Jumaili underlined that relations between the two countries "are witnessing a great growth", finding in both countries "the political will to strengthen bilateral relations and trade through the development of border crossings and the restoration of the roads ". For his part, Saudi Minister al Qasabi said that Riyadh will provide Iraq with technical support to allow Baghdad to join the World Trade Organization.
