Iraq, the Missan oil company completes 10 wells at Halfaya

According to reports from the Nova agency, the Iraqi oil company Missan (MOC) has completed the drilling of 10 extraction wells in the Halfaya field 30 kilometers from al Amara, in south-eastern Iraq.

This was announced by the director of Missan, Adnan Nushi. The project was developed with the contribution of the Chinese companies Bohai, Antonoil and Daqing under the supervision of MOC, Nushi said. The new wells are part of the plan to increase Halfaya's production to 400 barrels of crude oil per day.

At the Halfaya field, Chinese companies have drilled a total of 232 oil wells, the director of the MOC added. MOC is an oil company managed by the Iraqi Ministry of Petroleum active in the governorate of Maysan, where it operates in the fields of Halfaya, Bazergan, Abu Gharb, Fakka and Majnoon. The latter is managed in collaboration with the South Oil Company (Soc), an Iraqi state oil company from which MOC split in 2008.
