Rai Cultura recalls David Bowie in the days of 8 and 10 January in which the anniversary of the birth and the disappearance of the great artist respectively occurs and he does so with a double appointment for "Ghiaccio Bollente", the space dedicated by RAI to pop music , rock, jazz and world, focused mainly on the airing of the best of concerts and musical documentaries, as well as services produced by the editors of Ghiaccio Bollente, referring to the international music scene, both classical and contemporary.

The documentary films in question are: "The Sacred Triangle - Bowie, Iggy & Lou 1971 - 1973", which will air on Monday 8 January at 22.15, and "Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story", scheduled instead on Wednesday 10 January at 23.05 pm always on Rai5.
What happens when three music legends meet and start inspiring each other? The documentary film "The Sacred Triangle - Bowie, Iggy & Lou 1971 - 1973", made with the contribution of Bowie's ex-wife, Angie, Jayne County, Billy Name of Andy Warhol's Factory and other key characters of the epoch. The film tells the extraordinary alchemy that resulted from the meeting of the three music icons, David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed, and will make use of rare films, archive images and extracts from live performances. An intellectual triangle, in which Bowie will be able to "save" Lou and Iggy from oblivion and their excesses; a meeting that will mark a musical turning point for each of these artists, who in just under 3 years will give a new direction to their art. Lou Reed, having archived the Velvet Underground, plunged into a serious creative and psychological crisis; even Iggy Pop, lost in a whirlwind of drug addiction and on the verge of melting with his The Stooges, had reached an impasse. Until a meeting in New York's legendary Max's Kansas City venue proves crucial to their careers. In the wake of his huge success, Bowie will help his friends by producing Lou Reed's "Transformer" (his biggest commercial success) and Iggy & The Stooges "Raw Power" which will mark the Iguana's first renaissance. David Bowie's detractors have argued that he was a “poseur”, a skilled catalyst of other people's ideas mixed up and made his own with cunning and premeditation. But this is also an art form: that of knowing how to ride, and often anticipate, the zeitgeist. The film re-evaluates the extraordinary ability with which Bowie was able to grasp the artistic potential of his collaborators and to realize it with skill and clarity, stealing yes, something here and there, but as Albert Einstein argued - what more authoritative source? - “the secret of creativity is knowing how to hide one's sources”.
