TIPS FOR CARS
Considering the effects on road traffic that may occur due to snowfall and the sudden lowering of temperatures, it is advisable to travel only if necessary and only after having informed about the conditions of traffic and weather.
It is recommended to always keep a suitable safety distance from the vehicle in front, to moderate the speed, also in relation to the visibility of the road, to fasten the seat belts even in the rear seats, to ensure children with child seats and adapters and to stop Frequently.
Finally, also in case of rain, it freezes on the ground due to temperatures close to freezing rain (so-called freezing rain), the safety procedures in force require the total blocking of vehicular traffic - even light traffic - along the road. affected by the phenomenon, up to the positive verification of the conditions of adherence to the road surface.
It is advisable to travel only if necessary and to plan well-informed departures, avoiding where possible traveling on the routes and in the time slots affected by the most intense snowfalls and in any case considering travel times exceeding the norm, due to precipitation, action of anti-snow vehicles (operating at 40 km / h) and of the traffic itself.
It is necessary to start the journey only after checking the full efficiency of the vehicle, with a full tank of fuel and some basic necessities, especially if you are traveling with children.
Check the availability on board and the full functionality of the legal equipment (reflective jackets; triangle, snow chains or winter tires in good condition). In this regard, we remind you that winter tires are always recommended to use instead of chains, which are safer and suitable for transit on roads and motorways in snowy conditions; if you have only the chains, absolutely avoid assembling or disassembling them along the emergency or travel lanes or inside tunnels to avoid serious risks to the safety of people and hindrance to anti-snow vehicles (the operation is only allowed in the Service and Parking).
