A Falcon 50 from the Military Air Force carried a baby from Elmas to Rome

An emergency emergency transport from Elmas to Rome has recently been concluded for a child of 11 years in imminent danger of life.

A Falcon 50 of the 31 ° Stormo took off promptly from Ciampino (Rome) thanks to the crew already present in the field, thus greatly reducing the usual timing. After about an hour he arrived in Cagliari-Elmas and then returned to Rome where the child was transported by ambulance to the Bambino Gesù hospital.

The request for support was received by the Prefecture of Oristano at the Situation Room at the Summit of the Air Squad Command, the operations room of the Air Force which has among its tasks also that of organizing and managing - in coordination with Prefectures, Hospitals and Presidency of the Council of Ministers - this kind of transport throughout the national territory.

Air Force crews and transport aircraft are ready day and night to ensure, where required and deemed necessary for reasons of urgency, the medical transport of people in imminent danger of life, or that of organs and medical teams for transplants

Thousands of flight hours are carried out every year by the aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino, the 14th Wing of Pratica di Mare and the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa, assets always ready to intervene throughout the country, including the islands, and when requested by the competent authorities also in favor of Italian citizens who are abroad.
