During the celebrations Martinengo the Combat Flag will be delivered by ship
Monday 10 June, starting at 11.00, in the Naval Station Mar Grande of Taranto will be celebrated Navy Day 2019 in the presence of the Minister of Defense Elisabetta #Trenta, the Chief of Defense Staff, General Enzo #Vecciarelli, and the Chief of Staff of the #Marina, Team Admiral Valter #Girardelli.
Taranto, the key city for the Navy and the largest naval hub for the number of ships and personnel employed, returns to host, after 12 years, the day dedicated to the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. One of the most meaningful events will be the delivery of the combat flag to the Frigata # Martinengo, symbol of the sense of belonging to the Homeland and official entry of the ship within the Naval Squad.
The population will be free to participate and join the sailors and their families in one of the most representative and traditional celebrations of the Navy, imbued with the values of mutual solidarity, passion, humanity and high professionalism. The full program of activities also includes visits to the many ships present in the Naval Station Mar Grande, including the Amerigo training ship #Vespucci and the Giuseppe # Garibaldi carrier.
It will also be possible to visit Courses of the Coast Guard, a body with which the Marina symbolically celebrates its day as a single large crew of men and women, military and civilians who, with sacrifice, rigor and professionalism, carry out activities from the sea and the sea for international and country stability and security.
On the evening of 10 June, also in Taranto, the Navy Music Band will offer a free concert open to the public from 19: 30 at Piazza Garibaldi.
