Abi: innovation in the bank favors inclusion and accessibility

Deepening on the theme in the 2019 edition of the #ilCliente conference, from 15 to the 17 April in Milan

Accessible digital content, innovative solutions to facilitate access and improve stay in the bank, systems to reduce waiting times and increase the efficiency of the services offered. The development of new information and telematic technologies, in the context of digitalization in progress, and the greater use of "multi-channel" and "multi-sensorial" by citizens support the implementation of processes and the adoption of innovative solutions in the bank to facilitate all customer groups. With an increasing interest and commitment on the part of the banking world, as confirmed by the latest Abi bank accessibility survey: on a sample of participants in the initiative representing 63% of the total number of branches present on the national territory, almost totality has implemented measures to favor the use of products and offers in a highly inclusive perspective.

It is from these considerations that the study on the accessibility of citizens with functional limitations will start in the 2019 edition of the #ilCliente conference, the event promoted by ABI and carried out by ABIEventi on the relationship between the financial world and retail customer, whose work will take place in Milan from Monday, 15 April, for the next three days. The appointment is aimed at focusing and analyzing the repercussions of regulatory changes and digital transformation on distribution channels, on communication strategies, on the range and type of products, on services and on people, with particular attention to the issues of accessibility to tools and services.

#ilCliente will be an opportunity to discuss the strategies implemented by the banking world on the subject, but also to launch initiatives and strengthen the collaborations underway, within the framework of the European Accessibility Act, approved by Parliament on 13 March. Among the new proposals, the audio guide with useful tips for using payment tools in complete safety and defending yourself from scams, created by ABI in collaboration with the National Center for the Spoken Book of UICI - Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired Onlus APS. Third experience in this sense, the audio guide will join the other editorial productions already available for free online on the ABI website www.abi.it: the audio guides to facilitate the use of ATMs and Pos machines for blind or visually impaired people. .

Reading in the dark

#ilCliente, as part of the works dedicated to the theme of accessibility, will host the "Reading in the dark", the experiential and highly engaging project curated by the LIA Foundation to emphasize the importance of accessibility of content and to promote social inclusion -cultural of people with visual impairments. To intervene will be Giuseppe Culicchia with his latest novel "The heart and darkness". Author and readers with visual impairments will take turns reading passages. Accessibility in the bank

An instrument of financial and social inclusion and a strategic choice to respond adequately to the specific requests of people with functional limitations, or with particular needs, even temporary, accessibility in the banking world is understood not only in a physical sense, in relation to the measures adopted for the removal of architectural barriers for the benefit of customers, but also in terms of relationships and efficiency of processes, with a view to improving the various phases in which the relationship with customers is articulated.

The commitment of the banking sector in terms of accessibility is in line with the main indications contained in the European Accessibility Act, whose process at European level is in the process of being finalized. The initiatives promoted by ABI are part of the policies implemented to implement the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, the new strategic framework of the United Nations.
