Aeronautical Academy: the students of the Vulcano V Course swear

The solemn ceremony took place on the Piazzale delle Medaglie d'Oro, in the presence of the Minister of Defense, Roberta Pinotti, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General of Squadra Aerea Enzo Vecciarelli, and numerous civil, military and religious authorities , but above all the parents of young jurors.
With the traditional "I swear it!" The young students committed themselves to honor the ideals of loyalty, courage and sense of duty typical of the condition of belonging to the Armed Forces. During the ceremony there was also the baptism of the Course, in which the pennant - through an ideal handover of the godparents of the previous generations of Vulcan Courses - was entrusted to the Cape Course of Vulcan V. Both moments were accompanied by the passage of the National Aerobatic Team, which has spread its traditional tricolor in the sky.
The Minister of Defense, addressing young people who solemnly committed themselves before the FA and their community, reminded them that "we often speak of rights, but we must never forget that rights must also be accompanied by the duties and respect of the rules. Today, with the oath, working deeply in your life, you are reminding all the country that there are duties ". He then invited the boys to always follow their passions, as they are precisely these "that lead you to choose the one that is not only a profession but also and above all a mission. Within your mission lies the best of your essence. Here you will formulate yourself with highly qualified standards. It is no coincidence that more and more often there is a pressing request to be able to train with our Aeronautica Militare: a tradition that brings together innovation and values. Internalization today is a fundamental part of the formation of Italian soldiers because all the security challenges are played not alone but together with the entire Allied community we are part of. "
The Chief of Staff of the Air Force, in his speech to the jury, told them: "Your aeronautical future, dear students, will be complex and challenging but just as exciting for the opportunity that you are offered to become an integral part of a cutting-edge operational reality. Today I officially welcome you to the 4.0 Air Force, the new era of our Armed Forces. An Air Force aware of the threats and challenges, determined to actively contribute to the construction of the future of our nation with an ambitious but necessary mission: to expand and redesign the capabilities of the FA to be increasingly integrated and useful to the country, creating a activities of collective thought inspired by continuous innovation and open sharing of ideas as well as creating a working environment where each of us can realize himself from an ethical, moral, professional and intellectual point of view. The future belongs to you dear students of Vulcan V. Be proud of your choice and ready to honor your ideals with the courage of action so that you can always be proud of your way of being. "
The Commander of the Air Force Academy, General of the Air Brigade Enrico Degni, addressing the real protagonists of this ceremony: "... From now on, your life will be a continuous succession of trials and activities in which you will find yourself acting and choosing faith in the solemn commitment to be good citizens, servants of the Fatherland, honest, loyal and courageous people, pursuing values that are often poorly understood, but of which I believe that our country has an urgent need. Expectant years and great sacrifices await you, in search of a balance between the private sphere and a commitment that would be reductive to define only work. A special life awaits you in a complex and unpredictable future, in which you will be called to cover roles of responsibility and make decisions ".
As usual, at the ceremony, the "day in honor of the Gold Medals to Military Valor" was celebrated with the reading of the greeting message sent to the Vulcano V course by the group of gold medals decorated.
The seventy-eight goers - 56 men and 22 women - have been selected from over 6000 candidates and belong to different roles: 39 pilots, 10 of the role of weapons, 14 engineers, 8 commissioners and 7 doctors.
