Israeli aircraft hit targets near Damascus

According to Reuters, Israeli planes allegedly attacked some targets near Damascus, the Syrian capital last Tuesday. According to media reports, at least three Syrian soldiers were injured in the attack.
"Our air defenses faced hostile missiles launched by Israeli warplanes from over Lebanese territories and shot down most of them before reaching their targets," the military source said.
Syrian state media reported that an arms depot was hit and three soldiers were injured in the attack.
An Israeli military spokesman refused to comment on the reports.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based war observer, said Israeli missiles were fired from over Lebanese territories and targeted rural western and southwestern areas of Damascus.
"A number of missiles hit weapons depots for Hezbollah or Iranian forces," the observatory said. No injuries or losses were reported.
The Lebanese state-run national news agency said Israeli warplanes made mock raids over southern Lebanon.
Israel, during the ongoing conflict in neighboring Syria for over seven, has become particularly sensitive and concerned about the expansion of its arch-enemy Iran - a key ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The Israeli Air Force has located and targeted dozens of targets identified as Iranian deployments or arms transfers to the Iranian-backed Hezbollah movement in Lebanon during the war.
