The Air Force from 24 to 29 March in Piazza del Popolo in Rome to celebrate its 100th anniversary

"Air Force Experience”, this is the name of the exhibition space that the Air Force has set up in Piazza del Popolo, in Rome, on the occasion of the Centenary of the establishment of the Air Force, which occurs on Tuesday 28 March. An aeronautical village, which will be inaugurated on Friday 24 March at 11:00, in the presence of the leaders of the Armed Forces, full of history and technology, with aircraft on static display, experiential itineraries, training and entertainment meetings, promotional stands, simulators games, projections, musical and sporting performances that will allow citizens of all ages to get to know the Air Force better and experience the 100th birthday of the Arma Azzurra.

The exhibition will remain open until 29 March, every day from 10:00 to 20:00.

Citizens will be able to freely access and see up close the aircraft on which the operational activity of the Armed Forces is based, such as the highly advanced fifth generation fighter F-35,Euro Fighter which watches over the skies of Italy and allied countries, theMB-339A with the prestigious livery of Frecce Tricolori, the hunt Tornado andHH-139versatile helicopter used for search and rescue.

Not only that: visitors will be able to immerse themselves in three futuristic domes, an interactive itinerary which, starting from historical roots that sink into a past populated by pioneers and heroic deeds and touching a mature and rapidly evolving present, then shoots towards a future futuristic and yet to be imagined, made of artificial intelligence, robotics, multi-domain operations, suborbital flights, space companies, diving into cyberspace and much more.

Every afternoon, on the opening days, you will be able to attend moments of entertainment and entertainment, with the participation of well-known personalities alternating with testimonials of the Armed Forces, including eg the pilots of the Frecce Tricolori, la Air Force Band, the athletes of the AM Sports Centre

Saturday March 25, at 16:30, a live performance of the Air Force Band Military at the Spanish Steps. Information stands will also be available to those who want more details on how to join the great Air Force team or simply to learn more about its history and its daily commitment to serving the country.

Thanks to three playful simulators – two of the National Acrobatic Patrol and one of the fighter Euro Fighter - the public will be able to experience the thrill of piloting some of the most iconic aircraft employed by the Armed Forces in various operational scenarios, as well as talking to the crews who employ them on a daily basis.

The traveling exhibition in 2023 will touch several prestigious venues throughout the peninsula - including Florence, Bari, Cagliari, Palermo, Caserta, Parma, Treviso, Milan, Ferrara, Viterbo, Lecce – with the aim of illustrating the evolutionary path of the Armed Forces in its first century of life, from its foundation to the present day, bringing it ever closer to the territory and the citizen.

The exhibition at the Vittoriano can be visited, free of charge, until 23 April, from Tuesday to Friday from 09 to 30 and from 12.30 to 14.00. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the afternoon hours are extended until 16.

All the initiatives, events and main demonstrations of the Armed Forces, as well as part of the proceeds from the sales of the 2023 Calendar and the voluntary donations of staff and private individuals, will support the solidarity initiative "A gift from heaven for AIRC”, foundation committed to supporting cancer research in Italy for over 50 years. The funds raised will be used forpurchase of highly technological and latest generation equipment for IFOM, the AIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology.
