Air Force. Child in danger of life transported from Lamezia Terme to Rome

A Falcon 900 aircraft of the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force took off in the middle of the night to allow for urgent hospitalization

Shortly after midnight, an Air Force Falcon 900 aircraft landed at Ciampino Airport (RM) about an hour earlier from Lamezia Terme carrying a child of just 11 months in imminent danger of life.

The life-saving flight was arranged, at the request of the Prefecture of Catanzaro, by the Summit Situation Room of the Command of the Air Force of the Air Force which has, among other tasks, that of coordinating this kind of activity in favor of the civilian population on throughout the national territory.

The military aircraft initially took off from the Ciampino military airport, home of the 31st Wing, towards the Lamezia Terme airport, where it embarked the little patient, the mother and the medical team who guaranteed continuous monitoring during the airplane transport.

The military aircraft then returned to Ciampino airport; an ambulance completed the medical transport until it reached the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome.

Transport for citizens in imminent danger of life is carried out with crews, transport aircraft and helicopters of the Italian Air Force and consists of intense teamwork that requires professionalism, training and dedication. Thousands of flight hours are carried out every year by the aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino, the 14th Wing of Pratica di Mare, the 15th Wing of Cervia and the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa, always on the front line in case of emergency .
