Air Force in flight for a man in danger of life

The medical transport, from Naples to Linate, was carried out with a Falcon 900 of the 31 ° Stormo dell'Aeronautica Militare

In the early hours of Sunday 14 March, a 61-year-old man was rushed from Naples airport to Linate airport, aboard a Falcon 900 aircraft belonging to the 31st Wing of Ciampino.

The request for transport, as expected in these cases, was received by the Prefecture of Caserta at the Summit Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, the operations room of the Air Force which has among its tasks that of arranging and managing this type of missions through the activation of one of the aircraft that the Armed Force keeps ready 24 hours a day, in various bases, for this kind of need.

After landing at Linate, which took place around 02:00 after just over an hour of flight, the man was quickly transferred by ambulance to be admitted to the San Matteo Hospital in Pavia.

This type of mission requires maximum timeliness. The Air Force Flight Departments are available to the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with assets and crews able to operate, even in difficult weather conditions, to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger to life, but also to organs, medical teams or ambulances.
