Emergency transport with a Falcon 50 aircraft of the 31st Wing for a newborn from the Military Airport of Alghero for urgent hospitalization at the Gaslini hospital in Genoa

An urgent medical transport with an Air Force Falcon 7 took off from Alghero airport and headed for the military airport of Genoa (GE), for a baby girl in very serious condition. The little patient accompanied by her father, traveled in a thermal cradle and was constantly monitored by the medical team during the flight and transport to the Gaslini hospital in Genoa, where she was hospitalized immediately.

The flight, requested by the Prefecture of Sassari and coordinated by the Situation Room of the Top Command of the Air Squad, active 24 hours a day which also manages this type of urgent medical transport, was immediately activated using a Falcon 24 of the 50st Wing of Ciampino .

After the boarding operations of the little patient and the passengers, carried out by the Alghero flight line personnel together with the crew of the Falcon 50, the aircraft took off towards the Genoa airport; upon arrival, the ambulance immediately headed for the Gaslini hospital in Genoa, where the child was hospitalized.

The Air Force Flight Departments are available to the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with vehicles and crews able to operate, even in complex weather conditions, to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger to life, but also to organs, medical teams or ambulances.

Hundreds of flight hours are carried out every year for this type of intervention by the aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino, the 14th Wing of Pratica di Mare, the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa and the helicopters of the 15th Wing of Cervia.
