Aeronautica Militare: urgent transport from Sardinia to a child in danger of life

In the afternoon of today, Tuesday 12 June, the Air Force carried out the urgent transport of a nine-year-old patient in imminent danger of life.

A Falcon 50 from 31 ° Stormo Ciampino took off following the request received by the Prefecture of Cagliari at the Top Situation Room of the Air Squad Command. The Summit Situation Room, in coordination with the Prefectures throughout the country, arranges and manages this and other types of missions in favor of the community.

The aircraft, which arrived in Cagliari to embark the child, took off from the Sardinian capital in the afternoon and then landed in Ciampino after about an hour of flight. Here the young patient was immediately transported to the “Bambino Gesù” hospital to receive the necessary treatment.

For this type of missions, which require very quick reaction times, the Air Force maintains assets and crews in a state of operational readiness, available to citizens every single day of the year, 24 hours on 24, able to operate in meteorological conditions complex, ensuring the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life and medical teams, as in today's case, but also of organs and ambulances.
