The Falcon 900 of the Air Force has just landed in the late afternoon at the Ciampino military airport. It has urgently transported two children in danger of life from Sardinia who need to be transferred as soon as possible to the pediatric hospital "Bambino Gesù " From Rome.

The two young patients - a baby just two days old and a two-month-old baby, who traveled inside a special thermal cradle due to respiratory failure - were both hospitalized at the San Francesco Hospital in Nuoro. .

The life-saving flight, requested in the morning by the Prefecture of Nuoro, was immediately coordinated and arranged by the Top Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, the operations room of the Air Force which also has among its tasks to manage this type of missions, through the activation of one of the aircraft that the Armed Force keeps ready, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for this kind of need.

Given the urgency and compatibility of combining the two needs, the two children - in compliance with the precautionary measures connected to the Covid-19 health emergency - were boarded on the same aircraft, together with family members and a medical team who assistance during transport guaranteed.

The Falcon 900, which took off from Ciampino airport around 13pm, arrived in Olbia, boarded the two children and landed again in Ciampino shortly after 15pm, where it resumed operational readiness service.

Through its flight departments, the Air Force provides vehicles and crews ready to take off at any time and able to operate even in marginal weather conditions to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life, but also of organs and medical teams for transplants.
