AIDR invites Italian schools to participate in the “CIAK, EUROPA, SI VOTE!” Contest

Nicastri, president of Aidr: the European elections are an important moment to promote all together the importance of voting and active participation in democratic life

The AIDR foundation (www.aidr.it) has written to all Italian schools to invite them to participate in the contest "CIAK, EUROPE, VOTE!“, an extraordinary initiative promoted by the Representation in Italy of the European Commission, the European Parliament – ​​Office in Italy, and the Fondazione Cinema per Roma. This first edition of the contest has the ambitious objective of stimulating the creativity and ingenuity of the young generations, through the creation of a short video, lasting a maximum of 3 minutes. The central theme is the importance of voting and active participation in democratic life, in view of the next European elections, scheduled in the 27 Member States of the European Union from 6 to 9 June 2024.

The contest "CIAK, EUROPE, VOTE!” is a unique opportunity for schools to help inspire, inform and raise awareness among citizens, especially young people, about the importance of voting and their role in the future of Europe. Registration for the contest is completely free and will remain open until Sunday 17 March 2024.

The AIDR foundation, as part of the collaborative relationship with the Parliament and the European Commission, is also strongly committed to organizing a national tour called "Youth, digitalisation, European2024" with the aim of creating a program of institutional visits to Italian schools to promote democracy and participation among students and their families, essential to ensuring a strong and united European future.

“We definitely believe that the contest will also “CIAK, EUROPE, VOTE!” is an effective tool to achieve this objective and to strengthen the sense of belonging to the European Union among the younger generations – declared Mauro Nicastri, president of the Aidr foundation.
