The three international days dedicated to aerospace promoted by the Italian Air Force have officially begun at the "La Nuvola di Fuksas" congress center in Rome. The Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, was present.
It officially kicked off today at the convention center "The Cloud of Fuksas" in Rome, theAeroSpace Power Conference, the international convention promoted byair Force to discuss future developments in the aerospace sector on the occasion of the centenary of its establishment.
A rich program of interventions, which will continue funtil tomorrow Saturday 13 May, by the leading experts in the sector on the international scene, coming both from the military world, with representatives of the most important air forces of the world (about 27 heads of the air force globally), both of the civil one, with einternational experts from governmental, interagency, academic and industrial organizations.
Chaired by Ministry of Defense, Guido Crosetto, and with the presence of the Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Giuseppe Cable Dragon, the conference was officially opened by the Air Force Chief of Staff, General of the Air Squad Luca Goretti.
"We have to reconfigure the dimension of space and time from the point of view of technology and weapon systems“, declared the General Goretti. "Space and time, metaphorically and physically, combine in speed, which in turn implies reactivity, a key element of the air and space forces. One hundred years after the establishment of the Air Force, the Aerospace power is more relevant and disruptive than ever”, concluded the Air Force Chief of Staff, “and increasing air power skills is the best way to continue to adapt and remain an essential asset even in the next 100 years".
And precisely on the need to act effectively in the new domains, said the Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Cable Dragon, which highlighted how “the recent crises have demonstrated once again that the ability to operate in the spatial domain it is an essential condition for effectively carrying out military activities. It is evident to all, in particular, how the spatial domain, Together with cyber domain, were the first to be exploited also in favor of the classical domains - land, sea and air - amplifying their scope or reducing their adversarial effectiveness".
"In the aerospace sector we have a great past on which we Italians know how to build the future. To do this we need technology but above all the ability to analyze and forecast“explained the Defense Minister Guido Crosetto in his speech. “Today we talk not only about Aeronautics and Space but about safety in general and of those who have the task of guaranteeing it: the Armed Forces. If there is no security, there cannot be democracy, freedom and peace".
At the international conference, whose work can also be followed in streaming on the Air Force social platforms ( YouTube e LinkedIn), an e is also associatedaerospace layout, designed to make the Air Force and the main companies operating in the aerospace sector better known to the general public.
The exhibition event will be open free to the public, without any registration, Saturday 13 May, 15:00 to 18:00, and Sunday 14 May, 10:00 to 18:00. There will be several attractions dedicated to visitors: from immersive experiences experienced through playful activities and interactions with social media, alle cinematographic projections dedicated to the Centenary of the Armed Forces; from info point of the Air Force in which, among other things, you can collect exclusives Centennial gadgets, to a philatelic counter of Poste Italiane for the postal cancellation of postcards and stamps dedicated to the special occasion.
Last but not least, particular attention will be paid to the"A gift from heaven for AIRC" initiative, a charity collection promoted by the Air Force in favor of oncological research and whose funds will be used for the purchase of latest generation machinery for IFOM, the Foundation Institute of Molecular Oncology.
