High voltage 5S: from today until the Europeans the showdown

(by Massimiliano D'Elia) High tension within the Five Stars after the vote for the Diciotti affair. The Council for Immunities also saves Matteo Salvini and states, with 16 yes and 6 no, that the owner of the Interior Ministry will not go to trial before the Court of Ministers of Catania.  The vote must, however, also be approved in the Senate. The protest of the PD senators was animated yesterday at Palazzo Madama: among them Simona Malpezzi, Teresa Bellanova and Davide Faraone, shouting "honesty" and "shame", as soon as the outcome of the vote is made known. M.show signs that read "#decideCasaleggio"" #Lachiamavanoonesta'". Their target is the Five Stars and in particular the senator, Mario Michele Giarrusso that stands in front. They shout at him "resign, fool!". But he, imperturbable, a few meters from the protesters, replies, shifting attention from the Diciotti case to that of Matteo Renzi's parents. "They talk about honesty - he counterattacks with the reporters - but my father and my mother are regularly at home: while the parents of others are under house arrest ...". Then, leaving, he greets the protesters by making the 'handcuff' gesture with his wrists crossed. The 4 senators of FI, Gasparri, Malan, Modena and Paroli also said no to the trial; the 4 of the Sardinian League-party of action: Pillon, Tesei, Pellegrini, Augussori; Meinhard Durnwalder of the Autonomie e Balboni group of FdI. On the opposite side, the 4 senators of the Democratic Party: Cucca, Rossomando, Ginetti and Bonifazi; Pietro Grasso of LeU and Gregorio De Falco (ex M5S) now in the Misto group. In the council it went as expected, now the pain begins within the electorate of the Movement, deeply shaken by this story. On the one hand, the leaders, starting with the political leader Luigi Di Maio, exalt the use of online voting, observing that in this way the vote was "democratically decided by the members". This is echoed by the group leader in the Senate, Stefano Patuanelli, who speaks of a vote resulting from "a democratic consultation". "The choices made from above - he claims - we leave them to the other parties". But there are those who think otherwise. The senator, Paola Nugnes, reiterates that Rousseau's vote on the issue "is out of regulation". A choice that from an electoral point of view will cost us dearly. The judgment of Paolo Becchi, a former ideologist of the M5S, was also heavy, according to whom he voted in this way "to save Di Maio's leadership". In these divisions fits the comment of Pietro Grasso (LeU) who says he is "surprised" that 41% of 5S voters, many are in favor of the process, "do not have representation in Parliament".

Argument also taken from the candidate Secretary of the PD Zingaretti who, intervened in the transmission of Floris on La7, presses to intercept precisely that 41% of disappointed pentastellati. On them Zingaretti lays the basis for the redemption of the PD: they could be that part of the votes lost, those disappointed on the left who had tried the adventure of the M5S. It's time to get them back home, says Zingaretti.

Within the movement, even the president of the Chamber Fico argues that Salvini should have been tried. The 5S movement risks big because after Sardinia and Bari (Salvini will hoard the votes), the Europeans are approaching and precisely that 41% of opposites coming from the base are an alarm bell to which the pentastellated leaders must look more carefully, risking even drastic decisions, such as reviewing the leadership of Luigi Di Maio.
