The Navy School Navy, Amerigo Vespucci, arrived in Toulon

The Navy Navy Amerigo Vespucci Ship has arrived today in Toulon, France, where it will hold until September 18 for the eleventh stage of the 2017 Education Campaign.

Arrivals from the La Spezia Military Arsenal on April 19 for the 2017 Education Campaign, the "World's Most Beautiful Ship" and its crew have so far brought Italian excellence and the prestige of our Armed Forces in North America, through participation in cultural and promotional events, in collaboration with national diplomatic representations in the visited countries.

Vespucci ship has already participated in the international sailing racing "Tall Ship Race" in Hamilton (Bermuda), which keeps alive, thanks to the "giants of the sea", the tradition of sailing, especially in younger generations. The Navy's sailing ship then visited Canada where he participated in the 150 anniversary celebrations of the Canadian confederation and received a visit from the Head of State. After two stages in the United States, where students of the 1 ^ class of the Naval Academy of Livorno also had the opportunity to visit the United Nations Palace, Nave Vespucci again crossed the Atlantic Ocean by stopping in Ponta Delgada, Azores and later to Cadiz, Spain.

In Toulon the Vespucci will carry out the first stop in the Mediterranean during the return phase from the 2017 Education Campaign, which in the latter part saw the sailing ship in extraordinary way to sail through the Strait of Gibraltar and also saw the birth of the Dunatos course by consolidating the sense of belonging to the Official Students on board the Navy.

Great was the public's success, especially in the Italian community abroad, who, on board, was able to breathe the "scent of home" and meet with his fellow countrymen. In fact, beyond 34.000, visitors who have taken advantage of Vespucci's presence at the various ports today to admire the unique style and the beauty of timeless charm.

The Education Campaign aboard Nave Vespucci, and in particular the Atlantic crossing with sailing, the continuous seafaring exercises, the application of the principles of astronomical navigation for determining the position, the pressing rhythms of the guard services, represent a key element in the training of Navy personnel and contribute to transfer those founding values ​​that distinguish men and women of the armed force such as love for the sea, ethics, loyalty, discipline and honor but also the spirit of the body, the teamwork, the creation of the crew.

Today, 15 14, 30 2017, Captain Captain of Angelo Patruno, will hold a press conference on board during which he will present the ship and the 2017 Education Campaign. After Toulon, the Naval Unit will head to Livorno, Italy, for the last leg of the XNUMX Education Campaign.
