Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court

US President Donald Trump breaks the delay and announces the appointment of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

Now it is up to the Senate to confirm the appointment only then Barrett, a conservative Catholic, will take the place of the liberal icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died in recent days. Trump urged the Senate to proceed with confirmation quickly and urged Democrats not to hinder this path.

Barrett's hearing before the Senate Justice Committee is expected to begin on October 12, with confirmation that he could arrive before the presidential election on November 3.

The reaction of Joe Biden, a Democratic candidate for the White House, was not long in coming when he launched an appeal to the Senate for the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court not to take place before the presidential election on November 3.
