ANAS: passed crash test new road safety barrier #salvamotociclisti

Positive result for the crash test on the new continuous central traffic barrier with a device for the protection of motorcyclists, entirely designed by a team of engineers from Anas (FS Group Italiane).

The test was done in Bollate, in the province of Milan, on the track of CSI (IMQ Group), Certification Center and Behavioral Analysis.

“It is a very important result for road safety - declared the CEO of Anas Massimo Simonini - obtained thanks to the technological innovation produced by Anas engineers. The new #salvamotociclisti traffic barrier will allow Anas to further raise safety standards on its roads. Furthermore, it is an Anas branded device that can be exported to national and international markets ".

All the tests, preliminary to obtaining the CE marking, have been successfully completed, in particular the last one: a heavy vehicle with a total weight of 38 tons was launched against the barrier at a speed of 65km / h at an angle impact of 20 degrees confirming the correct behavior of the restraining device.

The central traffic barrier will solve the widespread problem, found on existing roads, of the installation of restraints in the presence of small spaces.

The barrier represents a further step towards the completion of the range of continuous road safety barriers with the #salvamotociclisti profile that Anas is building to protect and protect all users, with particular reference to the most vulnerable ones.

The traffic barrier was conceived and designed by the Safety Barriers sector, coordinated by the engineer Nicola Dinnella, of the Anas Operation and Coordination Division.

Technical description

The H4STDSM barrier by Anas is designed - as well as to limit the damage to the occupants of light vehicles and contain heavy vehicles inside the roadway - also to avoid serious damage to motorcyclists through the introduction of a motorcyclist safety device (DSM) which, in the event of a collision, avoids direct contact on the posts and sharp edges of the blade. The introduction of the #salvamotociclisti (DSM) device makes the behavior of the Anas barriers similar to that typical of structurally continuous barriers, as opposed to the barriers existing to unprotected tapes and posts. The range of Anas road barriers has been tested according to UNI EN 1317, part 1 and 2 in certified test fields.
