Assured to justice, Giuseppe Mauro suspected of stealing a precious Rolex

The SCIP - Criminalpol's International Police Cooperation Service reported in Italy, Giuseppe MAURO, Neapolitan 43enne, arrested in Ibiza on 21 last February, and recipient of a European arrest warrant with detention order issued in prison issued by the GIP of Court of Naples.

Giuseppe MAURO, is seriously suspected of having committed, together with an accomplice, the robbery of a very precious Rolex, of the commercial value of approximately 25.000 euros, to the detriment of a French tourist last June in the historical center of Naples.

On this occasion, the two criminals aboard a scooter joined the victim several times and, taking advantage of a moment of distraction, took possession of the watch, snatching it away with violence from the tourist, causing wounds to his wrist and running away immediately afterwards.

The investigation immediately initiated by the Flying Squad allowed the gathering of numerous indicative elements on the identity of the robbers, thanks to the declarations of the victim, his family members and the profound knowledge of the territory of the "Hawks" of the Flying Squad of Naples.

At the end of the investigative activity, the judge at the Court of Naples issued last July a precautionary custody order in jail against the two robbers. Measure performed only against one of the two subjects as Giuseppe MAURO had meanwhile been unavailable.

La Mobile has, however, continued to carry out a meticulous investigation to track down the robber, collecting additional elements that allowed the SCIP to activate the collateral Spanish organ and reach the capture of the fugitive.

It is not the first time that Giuseppe MAURO escapes after committing a crime and is punctually tracked down: it had already happened about 11 years ago for other crimes and even then he had been escorted by police, from Spain to Italy, to serve his penalty.

Upon arrival at the Air Border Police Offices, the formalities were completed and subsequently taken to jail at the disposal of the Neapolitan Judicial Authority.
