The objective is to promote the financial and social inclusion of citizens, in a strongly inclusive perspective, within the ambit of the protocol of understanding between Abi and UICI
The Abi audioguide is online with useful tips to use payment instruments in complete safety, avoid falling into online fraud, take no risks after making a cash withdrawal. Developed in collaboration with the National Center for Spoken Book of the UICI, the audio guide is conceived with a simple and immediate language and with practical information to avoid scams and deception, also in support of blind and partially sighted people, thanks to its fully usable format .
The initiative is part of the actions envisaged by the memorandum of understanding between Abi - the Italian Banking Association and UICI - Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired Onlus APS, for the implementation of joint activities and experimental projects of information and financial education.
Free and in digital format, the audio guide to defend oneself from scams represents the third appointment of this joint path started since 2013, which sees together Abi and UICI engaged in the production of audio books on banking and financial education topics of interest to people with visual impairment. In fact, audio guides are already available online to facilitate the use of ATMs and Pos machines: the first intends - among other things - to represent, on the customer side, the information necessary to perform the withdrawal operations, in accordance with the provisions of the guidelines on Accessibility Rules and Recommendations for Bancomat® services; the second is intended to clarify the processes aimed at the correct use of Pos with the function of receiving payments by people with visual disabilities.
The commitment of the banking sector in terms of accessibility is in line with the main indications contained in the European Act on Accessibility - the process of which at European level is being finalized - and is developed within the activities promoted by the ABI to foster the financial and social inclusion of citizens.
