Brexit: Juncker - "a possible backtrack on Brexit depends on the Parliament and the British citizens"

The President of the Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, on the occasion of the second day of work of the European Council, said that a possible backtrack on Brexit "depends on the British Parliament and the British citizens", and that it is therefore not up to the Europeans decide what the British should do.

The President of the Commission explained that in the first phase of the negotiations, the great efforts of the British Prime Minister Theresa May, have been recognized and appreciated. However, the Brexit negotiations remain a difficult process.

The agreement of the withdrawal, which will be presented to the European Parliament and the House of Commons, will be formalized shortly and, subsequently, negotiations on the future relationship will begin.
