Prisons: Petralia updates working group on new model for detainee custody

The updated report produced by the Working Group for the study of a new model of custody will soon be available to the Head of the Department of Prison Administration, Bernardo Petralia.

The indication to update and integrate the pre-existing work, started in April 2019 and completed in November of the same year, "with further aspects worthy of discussion" started last June on the impulse of the Head of the DAP and is aimed at the preparation of a future circular on the topic.

The Working Group - made up of two school directors, a commander, an inspector and an agent, joined by a regional supervisor of the Penitentiary Administration - will be coordinated by the top of the Department.

In the coming days, the ideas of the working group will be joined by the ideas and contributions that will come from the prison trade union organizations, already called to be heard on the subject.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of this July.
