The State Police arrested in Torvaianica (a hamlet of the Municipality of Pomezia), NR convicted Leccese from 52, recipient of a provision for the execution of concurrent sentences for over 20 years of imprisonment, issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Lecce on 17.11.2023 for crimes relating to mafia association, association aimed at trafficking in narcotics and weapons (articles 416 bis c.1, 416 bis c.5, 74 c.1, 110 cp).
More precisely, personnel from the Flying Squad of Lecce and Sisco of Lecce, with the operational support of Sisco of Rome, implemented the restrictive measure against the man who had made himself untraceable since November 2023, evading capture; thanks to laborious investigations carried out by the men of the State Police, the man was identified in the Lazio municipality while he was inside a supermarket intent on shopping, he was immediately stopped and arrested.
The person arrested, in the first decade of the 2000s, was a prominent figure in Salento organized crime as head of the "NISI-BRIGANTI" Clan, affiliated to the "Sacra Corona Unita" mafia consortium.
On 12.05.2012, personnel of the local Flying Squad, together with personnel of the Rome Flying Squad, had already arrested him in execution of a precautionary custody order in which 62 people were involved in various capacities for the crimes of 416 bis and art.74 dpr 309/90.
The activities were coordinated by the Central Operational Service of the State Police.
