The State Police and the Guardia di Finanza of Chieti have arrested 25 people responsible for various reasons of detention and drug dealing. The investigations of the policemen of the Flying Squad, the Central Operative Service and the financiers of the Compagnia della Guardia di Finanza, in the context of activities to combat drug dealing, have identified and disjointed three different criminal associations, composed of Italian and Albanian subjects, operating in the provinces of Chieti, Pescara and L´Aquila, continually engaged in the possession and sale of drugs.
The first group, identified in the cd. "Albanian canal", whose operational base had been planted in a large and isolated agricultural estate in the municipality of Bucchianico (CH), was found to be composed mostly of characters of Balkan origin and managed by a thirty-year-old Albanian - irregular on the territory of the State - at the head of a dense network of drugstores implemented above all in the Theatine area. The second group, referred to as the “step group,” and mostly made up of individuals characterized by belonging to the organized supporters of Chieti Calcio “89 mai domi”, had set up their headquarters in two well-known clubs located in Chieti Scalo. It was precisely in these two thriving commercial activities that large consignments of cocaine destined primarily for the Theatine nightlife arrived and were then processed and sorted for retail sale.
Precisely because of the particular tightness of this group, the intervention of undercover agents of the Central Operational Service of the State Police was used who, also through the use of hidden cameras, made it possible to unveil the dense network of sales gravitating around the two premises, allowing to acquire those substantial sources of evidence on the illegal activity carried out in the two aforementioned commercial premises. In the course of the investigations, the so-called "Pescara group" which was reached through investigative investigations carried out on the account of a person, originally from Cerignola (FG), of considerable criminal depth who, through the support in this province of a Cuban citizen, was in business with two well-known prominent personalities of the Pescara underworld.
The complex and articulated investigations conducted during the investigation allowed 10 to carry out arrests in flagrante delicto and to seize over 32 Kg. Of marijuana-type drugs, large quantities of cocaine and hashish, as well as euro 73.000,00 in cash, as income from the Illegal activity of dealing.
