"The bill that prohibits the production and marketing of synthetic food arises from the requests of trade associations, farmers, regions and municipal councils, of different political affiliations, which have approved measures against food produced in the laboratory. Requests also arrived through a collection of signatures and which the Meloni government has implemented, to protect public health on the basis of the precautionary principle. It is therefore a shared bill, which has transversal support and which, as amply specified in article 2, also prohibits importation into Italy, although there are still those who try to assert the opposite, instrumentally".
This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida.
