Chinese scientists have created the largest insect in the world in the laboratory. This was reported by the official Xinhua agency, according to which it is an insect itself 64 centimeters long, which in size has exceeded its mother, holder of the previous record. The monster-specimen of 'Phryganistria Chinensis' - this is the scientific name of the insect - was by researchers at the Western China Insect Museum in Chengdu, in the Sichuan region. The scientists started with the mother of the insect, 62,4 centimeters long, found by the museum curator, Zhao Li, in the countryside of the southern autonomous region of Zhuang, Guangxi, in 2014. The female, taken to the museum, laid six eggs and from one of them was born the insect now classified as the largest in the world.
