In the early hours of this morning, in the provinces of Milan, Monza Brianza, Pavia, Alessandria and Asti, the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Milan enforced two precautionary custody orders issued by the GIP of the Courts of Pavia and Monza-Brianza, on request of the respective public prosecutors, against a total of 13 subjects (4 Egyptians, 4 Albanians, 2 Moroccans, 2 Italians and 1 Romanian) held responsible, for various reasons, for possession and drug dealing, aggravated robbery, extortion and injuries personal aggravated. Another Albanian was arrested in flagrante delicto for drug possession.
The provisions arise from the results of two converging investigations, developed through complex technical activities, conducted by the Investigative Unit against a group of Albanian origin active in the drug trafficking of heroin and cocaine, and by the Operations Section of the Abbiategrasso Company following of a fight with stabbing - which took place in that municipality in August 2020 - relating to a partnership of North African origin also dedicated - among other things - to drug dealing.
In particular, the investigative activities as a whole made it possible to document the operation of:
- a group of Albanian nationals permanently rooted in the Milan area but able to carry on their business with the transport and delivery of large quantities of drugs even outside the province (Bergamo, Monza and Brianza, Asti, Cremona, Turin and Verona);
- a group of North Africans involved in the retail management of the drug market (cocaine and hashish) in the town of Abbiategrasso, capable of resorting to the use of violence both to assert its supremacy and to collect outstanding debts arising from the sale of substances.
The investigations also allowed to shed light on two robberies committed by some of the Egyptians to the detriment of two defaulters, kicked and slapped, threatened with death and then robbed of cash in one case and cell phone and bicycle in the other and also an extortion carried out against an Italian, taken to an isolated area and forced, under threat of death, to telephone his mother to have 50 euros delivered to the extortionists. The Carabinieri have also identified an apartment used as a refinery for narcotics, as well as various boxes used for the storage of the various types of drugs.
In the course of the activities, 4 individuals were also arrested in flagrante delicto and a total of 10 kg were seized. of hashish, 2 kg. of marijuana, 1 kg. of cocaine, 200 gr. of heroin as well as cutting substances (paracetamol and caffeine) as well as 77.745 euros in cash, the result of drug dealing.
As a result of this morning's searches of those arrested, the Carabinieri found and seized another 76 grams of cocaine in the possession of the brother of one of the suspects, who was therefore arrested in the act. A further 160.000 euros in cash were also seized.
Of the fourteen arrested, 12 were taken to prison and 2 under house arrest. Four recipients of the measures are currently untraceable.
