Comicon 2022: For the first time the Air Force at the International Comic Book Show in Naples

With the "Bolidi & Nuvolette" event, an illustrated author's book and a board game commemorating the Schneider Cup and the "100 years of Aeronautica Militare cometti" series will be presented.

From 22 to 25 April, for the entire duration of the XXII International Comic Book Fair in Naples (COMICON), for the first time the Air Force will be present at the event with a large exhibition space, to continue - less than a year from the cent anniversary of its foundation (28 March 1923) - in the work of spreading the values ​​and aeronautical culture throughout the territory and strengthening the strong bond with the youngest.

The Air Force will be present both in the Game pavilion and in the avenues of the event with a stand with two historic aircraft, the flight simulator and virtual reality viewers for a unique and immersive experience. Throughout the duration of the event, thanks to a playful flight simulator, everyone will have the opportunity to experience the thrill of flying on a Eurofighter multirole plane and admire two 1: 1 scale reproductions of aircraft that made aviation history military, the Caccia Nieuport 11 “Bebè” and the Caccia Macchi MC.205.

In addition, on April 22, 17.00 pm, Sala "Mordor (Pav. 6), the event" Bolidi & Nuvolette "will be attended by guests and experts - Professor Massimiliano Pinucci, Mr. Hideaki Hozawa (video intervention), Colonel Rosario D'Auria , Airport Command / Commander of the Sports and History Center of the Air Force of Vigna di Valle and Colonel Gerardo Cervone of the Historical Office of the Air Force - to present and tell the projects:

  • "Hydroracer The Schneider Trophy Epic", an illustrated author book and a board game - a co-edition of "Hun in the Sun" (book), "Platypus" (game) and Aeronautica Militare - that will rediscover the myth of the Schneider Cup. An aeronautical culture project to remember the history, the pilots, the machines, the epic of the seaplanes that competed in the golden years of aviation;
  • "100 years of Aeronautica Militare in comics", a series of 12 graphic novels dedicated to characters and episodes that have made the history of the Arma Azzurra, which will celebrate its centenary on 28 March 2023. A series of comic books makes use of emerging authors, screenwriters, designers, colorists and cover artists, to aim at the generation of the so-called millennials. The volumes, which make up the editorial project, will be gradually published over the next few months; the first two episodes "Ali su El-Alamein" by Francesco Archidiacono and, shortly, "In volo per la vita" by Vincenzo Grienti and Katia Ranalli are already on sale.
