Commissioner Mascherpa: first comic book in episodes about "Poliziamoderna"

When the charm of the detective story meets new and modern ideas of communication, marked by the vehicle of messages of legality and civil values, a project such as "Il Commissario Mascherpa" is born, the first detective comic published in episodes exclusively by the State Police, in the official magazine “Polizia Moderna”, with the collaboration of the writer Luca Scornaienchi and the designer Jonathan Fara.

The work, which was presented on 7 September at 18:30 in loc. Belvedere Marittimo (CS), is set in an imaginary Police Station in Diamante, a characteristic place, unique for traditions and customs, with its lights, the colors reflected on the sea and inevitably also with the shadows, the mysteries, the crimes to be solved . The crimes, the intrigues of power, the passions that go beyond the allowed limit will be the test bench to overcome for the policemen of a provincial police station which, although the fruit of fiction, appears represented as real and credible.

The State Police, with this initiative, aims to bring fans to the genre and younger readers, in order to make known the commitment and professionalism of the security operators; women and men who live among the people, in uniform or not, during and after hours of service.

The narrative, which is classically characterized by a horizontal line of series and individual episodes, represents an opportunity to convey those messages and principles underlying a concrete activity of information and, therefore, of prevention. For Mascherpa, as for all true policemen, the hours of service do not represent a limit to their duties, they can never "disconnect". A moment of personal reflection, in front of an evocative sunset, is abruptly interrupted by the insistent ringing of the mobile phone: the lifeless body of a woman, killed many years earlier, was accidentally found inside a deep pit; a mystery to investigate! Meanwhile, Mascherpa's collaborators are grappling with environmental wiretapping, the tip-off from a confidant and a worrying case of extortion. The Commissioner can count on the experience and stubbornness of Inspector Miraglia, on the computer knowledge of the young Politano and the intuitions of the chosen Agent Laura Macolino; how to ignore, then, the advice of an old retired "cop" who knows the history and secrets of the whole country? This is the role that Giuseppe Musella plays in the story, who was a policeman for many years and now continues to be useful because, after all, being a policeman is a job, but not a job like any other.
