Fast and lively edition for the ninth edition of La Ottanta, a coastal regatta by Circolo Nautico Santa Margherita, which officially opened the 2023 offshore season on the weekend of 1-2 April, with 61 boats entered from all over the Adriatic and Slovenia , Croatia and Germany.

Leaving on Saturday 1 April with a light north wind around six knots, the participants encountered changing weather conditions along the Caorle-Grado-Boa Paloma-Pirano (SLO) route and back, with sirocco wind in the first part then turning into bora in the ascent , which facilitated the landing of the fleet towards the finish line.

The fastest of all, with just under 11 hours to complete the course, was Mecube Gruppo Hera Est, Stefano Novello's Farr 400, which crossed the finish line on Saturday 1st April at 19:53:20 to win the Line Honor Trophy XTutti and also winning the second step of the podium in the compensated times ORC.

“Beautiful regatta, the good weather and the wind far beyond the forecasts contributed to making the day very intense.” Thus the helmsman and owner Riccardo De Roia “We had a good match-race with Irina, with whom we alternated in the lead on corrected time for the entire duration of the race. Unfortunately they were faster in the final stretch of the race, when the wind picked up which probably put us at a disadvantage for the compensated times. We congratulate them, the appointment is at the next regatta”.

Second at the finish line at 20:07:39 and ORC XTutti Overall winner, Maurizio Guglielmo's Farr 40 Irina led the fleet from the start.

Satisfied the crew from Ravenna at their first long run in the waters of Caorle “We made a good start and the wind didn't let us down until the finish. We managed the race with good pace and good tactics, which paid off. The welcome of the Organizing Committee was really appreciated, we are happy to have participated and we will definitely be back for La Duecento.”.
