Count on Facebook, Italy at work for the stabilization of Libya

Giuseppe Conte, returning from his visit to Libya, wrote on Facebook, “I am now back in Rome, at the end of a busy day. After the approval of the budget law in the Senate late at night and a Council of Ministers that lasted until three in the morning, I left for Libya at dawn today ”.
The prime minister explained that the visit was divided into three stages with the aim of "meeting the main Libyan interlocutors, moreover precisely on the eve of Libya's independence party: Fayez Al Serraj and Khaled Al Meshri in Tripoli, Khalifa Haftar in Benghazi, Aghila Issa Saleh in Tobruk. I reiterated to everyone that Italy does not want to decide the fate of the Libyan people, but we are a friendly country that wants to offer a contribution so that this people can find peace and stability. This is the reason why not even two months ago, in mid-November, we organized a conference for Libya in Palermo to promote a path to stabilize the country, in the wake of the commitment put in place by the UN. And it is the same reason for my visits today to all the main Libyan authorities. To all the authorities I expressed my sincere hope that 2019 will be the year of the turning point for Libya ”.
