Coronavirus: the situation of contagions in Italy

Under one thousand patients in intensive care. The decline continues

The Department continues its efforts in coordinating all the components and operating structures of the National Civil Protection Service.

In particular, in the field of health monitoring relating to the spread of Coronavirus on our territory, to date, 11 May, the total number of people who have contracted the virus is 219.814, with an increase compared to yesterday of 744 new cases. The total number of currently positive is 82.488, with a decrease of 836 clients compared to yesterday.

Of the currently positive 999 are undergoing intensive care, with a decrease of 28 patients compared to yesterday.

13.539 people are hospitalized with symptoms, a decrease of 79 patients compared to yesterday.

67.950 people, equal to 82% of the currently positive, are in isolation without symptoms or with mild symptoms.

Compared to yesterday, 179 died and bring the total to 30.739. The overall number of those discharged and recovered rises to 106.587, with an increase of 1.401 people compared to yesterday.

In detail, the currently positive cases are 30.411 in Lombardy, 13.338 in Piedmont, 7.040 in Emilia-Romagna, 5.460 in Veneto, 4.073 in Tuscany, 2.844 in Liguria, 4.294 in Lazio, 3.227 in the Marche, 1.909 in Campania, 735 in the Autonomous Province Trento, 2.544 in Puglia, 2.062 in Sicily, 830 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 1.609 in Abruzzo, 447 in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, 108 in Umbria, 511 in Sardinia, 107 in Valle d'Aosta, 568 in Calabria, 142 in Basilicata and 229 in Molise.
