Covid-19: Abi Initiative to support Civil Protection

The President of the Italian Banking Association, Antonio Patuelli, and the General Manager, Giovanni Sabatini, invite all the associated Banks not to collect commissions on wire transfers, or other forms of funds transfer, arranged in favor of the Civil Protection on current accounts dedicated to aid. for the COVID-19 emergency. The goal is to offer its support to the important role played by the Civil Protection in dealing with the emergency situation that Italy is experiencing due to the pandemic in progress, supporting all actions aimed at favoring the availability of structures as much as possible, medical machinery and equipment to support the population affected by the COVID-19 virus.

This initiative is in addition to what has been done so far by the banks to give their contribution of solidarity to the Italian population, as well as to the specific measures put in place by the sector to support the productive economy and the start of the resolution of the crisis. Among these, the new moratoriums signed by the ABI together with business associations to allow micro, small and medium-sized companies damaged by the epidemiological emergency COVID-19 the possibility of requesting the suspension or extension of the loans granted until January 31, 2020.
