On Saturday there was a new leap in infections in Italy. In the past 24 hours, positives have increased by 5.724, with 29 deaths.

Experts from the Technical-Scientific Committee and the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza they will meet this afternoon in an urgent meeting. The situation will be assessed and the possibility of adopting new measures in the next Dpcm to stop the increase in Covid-19 infections in recent days.

Stop to private parties, even at home, and suspension of amateur contact sports, such as soccer. These are two of the hypotheses that emerged in the meeting of the heads of delegation last night and that, according to what is learned from government sources, they should enter the new dpcm.

Yesterday over three hours of summit at Palazzo Chigi on the rules to combat the coronavirus. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte brought together the heads of delegation to take stock of the Dpcm, which expires next Thursday. Also present were the minister Francesco Boccia and the undersecretary Riccardo Fraccaro.

On the top table, the hypothesis of a tightening of anti-contagion measures, in the wake of the obligation to wear an outdoor mask introduced with the last DL due to the steadily rising trend of positives. The intention, it transpired from the meeting, would be to carefully evaluate the new measures, without accelerating the new Dpcm, following the trend of the infections and continuing the confrontation with the Regions.

Among the hypotheses circulated in the last few hours, anti-nightlife regulations such as the ban on gatherings in front of bars and restaurants, as well as in squares and parks. In addition, more stringent rules for private parties and events (weddings) with a number of guests proportionate to the capacity of the rooms. Smart working should be implemented.

These measures would add to the more general brake on nightlife, with the stop from 21pm to the possibility of standing up for food and drinks on the premises and with the closure of bars and restaurants at 24pm. Since the data show that the infection occurs mainly between relatives and friends, there should be a stop to private parties, even at home, and a limit of up to thirty people at the tables in clubs and ceremonial rooms.

The knot of the nightlife and conviviality was at the center of the meeting of the heads of delegation and of the premier Giuseppe Conte.

At the meeting, therefore, the hypothesis emerged of bringing forward the launch of the Dpcm to Monday evening but - the same sources explain - being the time very tight it cannot be excluded that the new tightening will be put in place, as scheduled, in the evening on Wednesday.

Today the ministers involved in the new measures - which will also include a remodeling of smart working - will work on fine-tuning the measures.
