Crosetto on the "$15 million bounty": "I'm absolutely calm"

(by Francesco Matera) Italy has sided with Ukraine without ifs and buts, as witnessed by the recent trip of the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Kiev. Days ago the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto and the Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani they leaked the news that the Russian brigade Wagner from Libya it could manage the taps that regulate the flow of migrants, crowded in the fields of the eastern part of the North African country. The news was confirmed by the report of our security apparatuses which highlighted the danger of an unprecedented exodus of migrants, that there would be around 700 people ready to leave Libya and as many others from tunisia ed Algeria.

The veiled accusations made public by Crosetto e Tajani have irritated the Russians and not a little so much so that yesterday the newspaper Il Foglio reported that our 007 would have informed, last week, the Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto that the Russian mercenary brigade Wagner allegedly put a $15 million bounty on his head. The bounty would be decided by the former president Dmitry Medvedev, current Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

Medved, among other things, is not new to piqued utterances towards our country and the exponents of the government in office. In January he had been called an idiot always at Crosetto for some statements about the need to send weapons to Kiev: “There are not many fools in the power structures of Europe, a certain Minister of Defense of a certain Italy, called the supply of armored vehicles and other weapons to Ukraine a prevention of the Third World War. A rare eccentric.

Not only Medved but also the head of Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, Has insulted Minister Crosetto for the accusations against his group of interfering, or managing the migratory flows from Africa to Italy.

Returning to the question of the size, according to our intelligence, verbal threats are, for now, only reflected in the Moscow press and not on intelligence information evidence.

The same Crosetto on twitter he tried to tone down the tone: "I am absolutely calm. I want to reiterate this so as not to fuel another, useless, cause for conflict: I don't feel threatened e I'm sure there's no bounty or anything on me. If there had been any real risks or threats of this magnitude, I would certainly have been informed about them and it never happened. "I think – reads another post – that what has come out on various sites is one of the many alarms that arrive every day, from disparate sources, that our authorities in charge of this verify and often archive. I'm sure no one will ever go beyond the blatant insults“. In another tweet Crosetto  states that "more or less plausible, more or less pleasant information circulates every day, which it is up to those in charge, those in charge of the security of the Republic, to verify, investigate and, if necessary, counteract. They are enough. Talking about it publicly is useless and helps no one.".

Il Wagner group apparently it's private but takes orders directly from Crane, Russian military intelligence. Il Foglio claims that Wagner has at least two cells in Europe: one in the Balkans, which moves between Serbia and Albania, the other in the Baltic countries based in Estonia. Il Foglio also hypothesizes that a patrol of a few men could detach from one of the two European cells to carry out targeted actions in Italy.

Il Copasir - Committee for the Security of the Republic - wants to see clearly and has asked the executive for a clarification on the real concreteness of this intimidation and the effective nature of the threat coming from Moscow.
