Culture. Art Bonus, the 8th edition is underway

Off to the platform www.artbonus.gov.it, the 8th edition of the Art Bonus Competition.

The initiative is organized by the Ministry of Culture and ALES, in collaboration with Promo PA Fondazione – LuBeC, to offer visibility and recognition to the bodies promoting Art Bonus collections and their donors.

The competition aims to make the territories protagonists thanks to the vote expressed by a spontaneous popular jury: all those who wish to support one or more competing projects can vote, all achieved thanks to monetary donations from companies, foundations and private citizens. This initiative also contributes to spreading awareness of the Art Bonus in those Italian regions that could obtain even greater benefits from the application of this government fiscal measure in favor of culture.

The 2024 edition, which coincides with the tenth anniversary of the entry into force of the Art Bonus Law, records an even higher number of eligible projects compared to previous editions: a sign of great liveliness of the territories and a constant growth in patronage, both also patchy across the entire national territory.

Approximately 2024 projects have been admitted to the 400 Competition which have achieved the economic objective set between 1 January and 31 December 2023 and meet the requirements set out in the 2024 regulation. The admitted projects are distributed in the following 17 regions, in order of number of competing projects: Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Marche, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Umbria, Lazio, Trentino Alto Adige, Campania, Puglia, Abruzzo, Sicily, Calabria, Sardinia.

How to vote:

With a simple click on the Art Bonus platform and with a like on social channels, depending on the voting stage.

The projects are divided into two categories:

  • “Cultural heritage and places” category: restoration and maintenance projects for cultural heritage and support projects for museums, libraries, archives, archaeological areas, monumental complexes.
  • “Live entertainment” category: projects to support entertainment organizations and activities.

There will be two overall winners of the 8th edition, one for each category.

The stages of the Art Bonus 2024 Competition:

  • PHASE I: Voting on the Art Bonus website artbonus.gov.it/concorso/2024/ until 12.00 on 1 March 2024. The objective of this phase is to select from all the admitted projects the 20 projects with the most votes for each of the two categories, i.e. the first 20 classified for "Heritage and places of culture" and the first 20 classified for "Entertainment".
  • FASE II: Final vote on Art Bonus' Facebook and Instagram social channels from 12.00 on 4 March until 12.00 on 18 March 2024. The 40 most voted projects considering the two categories will participate in Phase II.

The votes of the first and second phases will be added by the Art Bonus editorial team to construct the final ranking.

The prize will consist of a symbolic recognition given to the 2 overall winners and to the other 4 finalists (arriving in second and third position in each category), or to the first three classified on the podium for each category. The awards ceremony will take place during a public event organized by the promoters of the competition.

Updated data on the Art Bonus: over 2.500 beneficiary bodies, 39.000 patrons, 6.100 interventions published on the platform, over 878 million euros raised throughout the national territory.
