Extraordinary record of adhesions for the State Police and Unieuro event dedicated to the fight against cyberbullying

Polizia di Stato and Unieuro tomorrow Tuesday 9 February starting at 10.00 they will be live streaming on the policedistato.it website, cuoriconnessi.it and also on the official YouTube channel of the State Police, for #cuoriconnessi, a great digital event on the occasion of the Safer Internet Day, world day for network security.

More than 3.000 schools from all over Italy and over 200.000 students will participate in the live show: the meeting is dedicated to third year students of first grade secondary schools and to students of 1st and 2nd class of secondary schools. Participation will be allowed through a dedicated platform.

The event, moderated by the journalist Luca Pagliari, will be attended by the Chief of Police - Director General of Public Security Franco Gabrielli, the Head of the Department for Human, Financial and Instrumental Resources of MIUR Giovanna Boda, the Chief Executive Officer of Unieuro Giancarlo Nicosanti and the Director of the Postal Police and Communications Service Nunzia Ciardi.

A documentary film will be broadcast which tells the true story of a teenage victim of cyberbullying.

"Cybercrime is constantly evolving and the activity of the Postal Police knows no end - says Nunzia Ciardi, Director of the Postal and Communications Police Service - dealing with cases of sexting, grooming, body shaming and cyberbullying, just to name a few phenomena: in as State Police, we believe it is important to reaffirm our utmost commitment to protect the victims of complex and sometimes dramatic situations. Victims of cyberbullying - continues Ciardi - often experience situations of profound loneliness and can therefore delay in contacting the competent authorities. We wish to urge them to do so promptly, avoiding dangerous complications and breaking their isolation through the qualified support of the institutions. Each campaign that sets this goal - concludes Ciardi - including "#cuoriconnessi", represents in this sense a valuable contribution to the universe of young people ".

In conjunction with the event, after the success of the first book #cuoriconnessi, the new text “#cuoriconnessi. Cyberbullying, bullying and online life stories. Which side are you on? ”, A new collection of true stories - intense and daughters of our times - which, although different in dynamics, cultures and territories, are united by a common denominator: the relationship of young people with technology and the network.

The volume is distributed free of charge in 200.000 copies at all Unieuro points of sale and can be consulted in the offices of the Postal Police in the regional capitals. The digital version will be downloadable, again free of charge, from the cuoriconnessi.it website and from the main online stores.

Thanks to #cuoriconnessi since 2016, the year the project was born, over 30.000 students took part in the tour in the theaters that touched the main Italian cities, from north to south. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the “#cuoriconnessi” web TV has been online through the YouTube channel and in just a few months has exceeded 500.000 views.
