The agreement between the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti was finalized for the launch of the new call for supply chain contracts, the main measure of the PNRR in favor of the agri-food sector

To date, approximately 350 contracts have been signed through previous tenders with over 280 million committed in favor of over 340 companies active in the sector

Rome, 21 September 2022 - Support national agro-industrial policies and finance investment programs in favor of strategic supply chains. This is the objective of the Convention signed today by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies (MIPAAF) and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) which governs the granting of subsidized loans under the "Revolving Fund for the support of businesses and investments in research "(FRI), as part of the fifth call promoted by the Ministry in favor of supply chain contracts in the agri-food and agro-energy sector. The total resources could reach a total value of about two billion.

The initiative aims to finance investment programs aimed at strategic operating chains in a multi-regional context, which must be sustainable from an environmental point of view and innovative from a technological point of view. Supply chain contracts represent an instrument established in 2002 and managed by MIPAAF to support national agro-industrial policies with specific purposes for individual sectors such as: agri-food, fishing, forestry, floriculture and horticulture.

In detail, the initiative provides for a direct contribution granted by MIPAAF using up to approximately 800 million of the resources of the Complementary Fund to the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR). To these resources are added the subsidized loans (fixed rate of 0,5% per annum) of up to 600 million granted by CDP under the FRI, alongside loans of the same amount and duration (up to 15 years) granted by the banking system to market conditions. For a total, in fact, of about two billion.

The collaboration between CDP and MIPAAF has already made it possible to stipulate over 350 loan agreements on previous tenders, for an amount of approximately 280 million in subsidized loans in favor of over 340 companies active in the sector.
