Integrated Digital Education, decree signed for investments of over 8 million euros

Minister Valditara: "With this measure there will be adequate tools to enhance the training activity of teachers"

The Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara has signed a decree which allocates over 8 million euros of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to schools for investments in integrated digital teaching and in the training of school staff for the digital transition.

The provision aims to implement initiatives with networks of schools throughout the country. The goal is to strengthen digital and innovation skills in both students and teachers.

These initiatives will contribute to the diffusion of the actions of the PNRR on the territories, they will be carried out according to co-designed innovative laboratory methods and approaches and, on the basis of the experiences and the educational and training activities carried out, they will constitute documentation on the orientation, exchange and knowledge of good digital teaching practices.

The decree will contribute to the achievement of the European target which envisages, by 31 December 2024, the training of 650.000 school managers, teachers and administrative staff, the activation of 20.000 training courses and the involvement of 8.000 educational institutions.

“Investing in technology means investing in the future of our kids. We must not be afraid of the digital transition but we must know how to manage it, because it will have an increasingly profound impact on society and on the world of education. Thanks to this measure, a widespread training of teachers will be achieved, who will have more resources available for the use of suitable tools to enhance the training activity”, declared the Minister Giuseppe Valditara.
