Defense, an important Aeronautica Militare exercise and the National Alpine Rescue Corps

An important exercise for the community was held at the “G. Moscardini ”headquarters of the 72nd Wing of Frosinone. Called "FRO 01", inserted in the framework of the Technical Agreement between the Defense Staff, the Armed Forces and the National Alpine Rescue Corps (CNSAS), it is planned and conducted on an annual basis.

The objective of the exercise event is to consolidate training in joint operations in the field of search and rescue, amalgamating languages ​​and procedures in order to make the interventions carried out in the mountain environment in favor of the protection of human life ever more effective and timely.

The units of the CNSAS of the Lazio and Campania Regions were embarked on the Stormo helicopters, TH-500B, for subsequent transport to the area of ​​operations in Eremo di San Giacomo in the Municipality of Veroli (FR). The versatility of the helicopter and the effectiveness of the research teams, also equipped with dog units, represent an important capacity for intervention at the service of the population even in the event of public calamity events.

The 72simo Stormo, the only Flight School in the rotary wing sector, dependent on the Schools Command / 3rd Air Region of Bari, is the Department that trains the helicopter pilots of the Air Force and all the other Armed Forces and Armed Corps of the State. The Flight School also qualifies and qualifies helicopter flight instructors and examiners and specialist personnel of the Armed Forces and the State Armed Corps. These courses are all also held in English and carried out for personnel from other countries. The Stormo also participates in the operational activity of the FA and, upon request, is able to offer with its own men and assets the contribution to the Civil Protection and SAR (Search and Rescue - Rescue and Recovery) operations.
