#Domenicalmuseo, Sangiuliano: “Cultural heritage is a fundamental element of national identity”

“Frequently frequent the museums of your city, go there often to contemplate with the necessary inclination of mind not the entire collection but some works, different from time to time, stop to meditate in the rooms of a gallery or among the remains of a archaeological site, breathing in the beauty and absoluteness that emanates from it: this is the spirit of Sundays at the museum, in which citizens can freely reclaim the roots of the community in which they live and rediscover its most intimate meaning. The success of making places of culture free on the first Sunday of the month, confirmed again today, is testimony to how much Italians love their cultural heritage and make it a fundamental element of their national identity".

This was declared by the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, commenting on the first provisional data of the appointment with the #domenicalmuseo in March, the initiative of the Ministry of Culture which allows free entry, every first Sunday of the month, to museums and state archaeological parks.
