(by Massimiliano D'Elia) The war in Ukraine today enters its first year without being able to see any faint change of peace on the horizon, indeed it has awakened ancient consciences that we thought buried forever. The whole world has shown strong support for the Ukrainian people after a year of heavy fighting that has seen hundreds of thousands of military and civilian men fall to the ground.
Paris lit up the Torre Eiffel with the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag and people draped with Ukrainian flags gathered during a night vigil in London. In Brussels, the buildings of the European Union have been illuminated in the distinctive Ukrainian colours.
The UN votes on a resolution for the immediate withdrawal of the Russians from Ukraine
A resolution was voted at the UN yesterday which calls on Russia for the immediate withdrawal of its military from Ukraine. With 141 votes in favor and 32 abstentions, Russia effectively remained isolated in the international context. Six countries, however, joined Russia in voting no: Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea, Mali, Nicaragua and Syria. China ed India they abstained.

The Deputy Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Dmitry Polyanskiy he branded the UN vote as "useless".
The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky greeted the vote on twitter: “This resolution is a powerful signal of tireless global support for Ukraine”.
Meanwhile, G7 leaders said they were ready to coordinate for more aid to Ukraine.
Washington will deliver right away another tranche of military aid to Ukraine amounting to 2 billion dollars, the White House national security adviser announced to CNN Jake sullivan, without providing details on these new deliveries.
From the indicators on the ground and from the moves of the international community it is clear that we are close to the reckoning which should begin close to spring. We are therefore preparing for the great and last battle even if peace proposals and contacts between the superpowers China and the USA are still standing. The point is that no one today wants to go back to status quo of last year. However, as Macron maintains, Putin cannot be humiliated, but nor can a wicked invasion then lead to territorial conquests: it would be a defeat capable of generating a spiral of war that is then difficult to stop with conventional weapons. Only China, if it really wanted to, could immediately favor a prodromal truce to a peace to be built on solid foundations also by deploying interposition forces on Ukrainian territory.
Der spiegel: China ready to supply drones to Russia
The Russian military is in talks with the Chinese Xi'an Bingo Intelligent Aviation Technology for the mass production of kamikaze drones to its armed forces.
This is what Der Spiegel reports, according to which the affair creates a new urgency in the debate on possible Chinese military support for Russia.
According to information gathered by the German newspaper, the Chinese company has agreed to produce and test 100 ZT-180 drone prototypes before delivering them to the Russian defense by April 2023. Military experts believe that the ZT-180 is capable of carrying a warhead from 35 to 50 kilograms.
