An Indian drone violated Chinese airspace and crashed, causing a protest in Beijing. This was reported by the deputy head of the military operations office of the Western Command Zhang Shuili.

"India's move violated China's territorial sovereignty and we are strongly opposed to this," Shuili said, according to the Chinese state news agency "Xinhua".

Zhang stressed that Chinese border guards acted professionally and responsibly and promised that the military would continue to defend China's sovereignty and national security.

A military conflict erupted in mid-June between China and India after Indian troops blocked construction of Chinese roads in the disputed area of Doklam, near the state of Sikkim, where India supports Bhutan's territorial claims.

On June 16, the Indian army blocked the construction of a road in the disputed area by the Chinese; the stalemate lasted 73 days, until at the end of August the parties reached an agreement on the withdrawal of their respective troops from the plateau. In reality, as confirmed by the Chief of Staff of the Indian Air Force, Birender Singh Dhanoa, Chinese troops are still positioned in the Chumbi Valley, Tibet, which includes the Doklam area, which China considers a its territory, but which is also claimed by Bhutan, an ally of India.
