The 4th edition of the Elirunning sporting event took place last Sunday at the “G. Moscardini ”in Frosinone, home of the 72nd Stormo.
Hundreds of athletes who participated in the two races, the Provincial Road Running Championship and the Fulvio Villa Trophy 2nd running test, organized by the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) with a course developed inside the Airport.
Also this year the event was combined with an important charity work, or the fundraising promoted by the Air Force called "A gift from heaven".
The proceeds from the event will be entirely donated to the Giannina Gaslini pediatric hospitals in Genoa, Bambino Gesù in Rome and Santobono Pausilipon in Naples.
The charity initiative was promoted by the Arma Azzurra on the occasion of the centenary of the proclamation of the Blessed Virgin of Loreto as Patroness of Aviators and will give way to purchase medical equipment for young patients.
Present the most important national marching teams, namely those of the Italian Army, the Yellow Flames and ACSI Italia Atletica.
The 72nd Wing, the only school in the sector of the rotary wing in Italy, is the Department dependent on the Air Force Schools Command / 3rd Air Region of Bari, which trains helicopter pilots of the Blue Army, of the other Armed Forces and Bodies Armed with the state, as well as foreign visitors. The collaborative synergy developed in the field of training at the Frosinone helicopter school is part of the defense policy lines with a view to continuous improvement of training and contextual optimization of resources.
